The following policies are designed to ensure that table tents, postings, posters, and flyers are appropriate and that there is sufficient and equitable space for all eligible materials.
The Library reserves the right to deem certain materials inappropriate for distribution in the Library. The Library also reserves the right to remove materials due to date or space limitations.
The Library will not guarantee the return of any materials that are removed for inappropriateness or date expiration.
Postings may only be placed on kiosks or bulletin boards located in the Mews Café or in the Read & Relax area on the first floor.
NO postings are to be placed on the front doors, walls, study carrels, group studies, display cases, restrooms, or doors anywhere in the Library. Only The Throne may be posted in the restrooms.
Table Tents:
- Table Tents in the Mews Café:
- do not require prior approval
- are limited to one tent per table
- are to include an event date or date placed on the tables
- are to be placed and removed by the organization providing the table tents; ordinarily should be removed 7 days after the event’s date
- should be sturdy enough to stand on their own
- Table Tents in the Library:
- must be approved by the Library Administration. Please submit a master copy of the intended table tent at least one week prior to desired placement
- are limited to one table tent per table
- are to include an event date or date placed on the tables
- are to be placed and removed by the organization providing the table tents; ordinarily should be removed 7 days after the event’s date
- should be sturdy enough to stand on their own
Postings:
- placed on kiosks or bulletin boards only in the Mews Café or first floor Read & Relax area
- displayed with an event date or the date placed in the Library
- removed after the event’s date or, if undated, after 30 days, or as space is needed
Posters on Easels:
- may be placed in the Library for exhibits or special events being held in collaboration with other groups on campus
- suggestions for collaborative programs may be shared with the Library’s Exhibits Committee
Flyers/Brochures/Newsletters, etc.:
- placed only in the Mews Café or the Swem Library lobby on specified shelves (pending available space)
- limited to one pile of flyers in each location
- displayed with an event date, publication date or the date placed in the Library, if possible.
- removed after the event’s date or, if undated, after 30 days, or as space is needed
