Ulrich's Serials Analysis System
Technical Services Training

VIVA logo

The VIVA Resources for Users Committee will hold two refresher sessions for the Ulrich's Serials Analysis System, on March 10 at Blue Ridge Community College, and on March 11 at Randolph-Macon College in Ashland. Bob Gerace of Bowker (Bob.Gerace@Bowker.com) will conduct the training, which will feature enhancements to the system during the past year and using reports for individual libraries. Following the training, Paul Metz of Virginia Tech will present "VIVA's Findings Using Ulrich's Serials Analysis System for Virginia Libraries." Registration and refreshments begin at 9:00; the session is from 9:30-12:30. The morning will conclude with lunch on your own. Registration is limited to 40 participants per session.

Any VIVA library staff member is welcome to attend, but the training will be primarily of interest to serials and collection development staff. We will initially limit registrations to two persons per institution, but may open up registration to others if there is room. Staff from both public and private institutions are welcome; however, we can only reimburse registrants from VIVA public institutions. Training money is tight, so we do encourage carpooling. If you have to stay overnight, please fill out a travel authorization form and get prior approval from the VIVA office. See VIVA Travel Guidelines.
